Lego Star Wars

This was my college senior thesis project at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. Instead of spending time creating a story and characters, I wanted to focus on sharpening and showcasing my technical abilities.

All ships are actual Lego models shot in front of a green screen. Figures were stop-motion animated. The faces were animated separately and then applied to a blank Lego head.

The trench was created in Blender and was textured with actual photographs of Legos.

All visual effects and compositing (i.e. lasers, star-scape,engine blasts) were done in Adobe After Effects.

DVD menu

This is the DVD menu I created for my Lego Star Wars piece (seen here Lego Star Wars).

Created with stop-motion Lego models in front of a green screen and edited and composited in Adobe After Effects.

"Sam"

This is a character design I drew sometime around December of 2010. I call her Sam.

Drawn on paper, then scanned and colored in Photoshop.

"...the world turns slowly"

Adobe Photoshop painting/composite

Background for a music video animation I'm working on in my spare time. The song is "Fireflies" by Owl City.

"I try and make myself believe, that the world turns slowly. And it's hard to say I'd rather stay, awake when I'm asleep... because my dreams are bursting at the seems."
